Xiaomi Unveils Compact Ice Maker for Summer: Bullet-Shaped Cubes in 6 Minutes
Xiaomi introduces a portable ice maker that produces bullet-shaped ice cubes in just 6 minutes, offering two size options and a compact design. With a 1-liter water tank, it can produce up to 13 kg of ice in 24 hours. Priced at around 46 euros in China, its availability in Europe remains uncertain.

Xiaomi has launched a new compact ice maker designed for summer, capable of producing bullet-shaped ice cubes in just 6 minutes. The appliance offers two ice cube sizes-small 'rapid' cubes and larger 'standard' cubes-making it a versatile addition to any home. With a sleek design that fits within the footprint of an A4 sheet, it’s ideal for kitchens, offices, or even outdoor gatherings. ## Features and Performance The ice maker boasts a 1-liter water tank and can produce between 64 and 80 ice cubes per batch. In its rapid mode, it takes just 6-8 minutes to generate a fresh batch of small cubes. For those who prefer larger, clearer ice cubes, the standard mode takes about 7 minutes to produce cubes that melt more slowly, helping to keep drinks colder for longer. Xiaomi claims the machine can produce up to 13 kg of ice in a 24-hour period, making it suitable for parties or large gatherings. The device includes a transparent window to monitor ice levels without opening the lid, preserving the cold inside. It also features LED indicators for water levels, UV status, and ice mode selection. Weighing 6.1 kg, it’s not designed for frequent portability but can be moved when needed. Xiaomi notes that the ice maker is compatible with vehicle use, adding to its versatility. ## Convenience and Maintenance The ice maker comes with an automated cleaning system and a lateral drainage design, ensuring easy maintenance. Users can program ice production in advance, choosing between 3, 5, or 8-hour intervals. Despite its compact size, the appliance is equipped to handle continuous use, making it a practical choice for those who need a steady supply of ice. ## Pricing and Availability The ice maker is set to launch in China next week at a price of 359 yuan, approximately 46 euros. However, Xiaomi has not yet confirmed whether it will be available in Europe or what the pricing would be in other markets. For now, consumers outside China will have to wait for further updates on its global release.
